Categorizing into Default MapsThe discovered devices
are classified into the below categories based on the response showed
by devices for the SNMP and NMAP requests sent by the Probe.
- Servers
- Routers
- Switches
- Desktops
- Firewalls
- Domain Controllers
- Wireless
- Printers
- UPS
- URLs
The devices that are
not SNMP enabled, and the device types which are not included in the template
are incorrectly classified under desktop. However, you can change them
to the correct category. Refer Import Devices to change the device
category.
You can also add your own infrastructure
maps to group your devices according to categories, or create business
views to logically group devices, for instance, based on geography.
