Configuring Credentials

Probes access the devices using SNMP/CLI/WMI protocols. The credentials like password/SNMP community, port etc. may differ for different devices. Pre-configuring a set of credentials in OpManager DE helps applying them to multiple devices at a time, saving a lot of manual effort.

Steps to configure credentials:
  1. From Probe web client, go to Admin-> Credential Settings.
  2. Click on New button. Add Credential window opens.
  3. Select the Credential Type.
    • SNMPv1/SNMPv2
      1. Enter the credential Name and Description.
      2. Configure the correct Read, Write community and SNMP Port.
    • Windows
      1. Enter the credential Name and Description.
      2. Enter the Domain Name\User ID [example: TestDomain\TestUser] and Password.
    • Telnet/SSH
      1. Enter the credential Name.
      2. Enter the UserName and Password.
      3. Configure the correct Command Prompt, Login Prompt and Password Prompt.
      4. Select the Protocol as either Telnet or SSH.
  4. Click on Add button.
