Discovering NetworksIn OpManager DE, discovery is done on the Probe side. Discovery is done using ICMP/Nmap. You can discover an entire network or devices within a specif IP range.
Discover a range To discover devices from a selected range specify the start and end ip address and select the netmask for the devices to be discovered within that range.
- From Probe web client UI, click the Admin tab.
- Under Discovery, click on Discover Devices link. Discover Devices page opens.

- Select Use IP Range option to discover the devices within an IP range.
- Start IP: Specify the IP address of the device in the range from where OpManager should start discovery.
- End IP: Specify the IP address till which OpManager should discover.
- Netmask: Select the correct netmask.
- Credentials to use: Select the configured credentials to be used for discovery.
- Add credential: Click here to add a new credential.
- Advanced SNMP Settings: Click here to configure an increase SNMP timeout or SNMP retries
- Click on Discover button to start the discovery.
Discover a complete network
- Select Use CIDR option to discover a complete network.
- Network IP: Specify the Network IP to be discovered.
- Select the credential and SNMP settings as mentioned above.
- Click on Discover button to discover the entire network.
Discover by importing from a file To discover the devices that are listed in a CSV/txt file, follow the below steps:
- Create a CSV or txt file with the details of name/ipaddress of the device, giving each name in a single line.
- Select CSV File Import option in the Discover Devices window.
- Click on Browse button to locate the CSV/txt file that is created.
- Provide the correct Netmask.
- Select the credential and SNMP settings as mentioned above.
- Click on Discover button to discover the entire network.
Import the devices into OpManager DE All the discovered devices are listed by category-wise. Steps to import the devices:
- Click on Import Devices button to add all the devices for monitoring.
- Click on Finish once the devices are added.
