Remove stray entries from database

This page helps you remove stray device entries that are present in the server even after you remove the device from the system.

Important Notes

1) Please don't try to remove 'localhost' or the server name where OpManagerDE is running
2) Possibly give the exact device name/IpAddress, else you risk removing other device details too. The script responds success even if you enter fake device names. So don't rely on the script for exact results
3) You need to execute this script in both Central and Probe.
4) Also you need to make sure that the OpManager DE servers are running when you execute it
5) After running the script in both Central and Probe, restart both for the changes to take place.

Instructions to use (Applicable for both OpManagerDE Central and Probe)

1) Download the attached zip file RemoveDBEntries.zip, at the end of this page, to your local drive. Extract the file under the directory <OpManagerDE_Home>(Both Central and Probe)
2) The script needs to be fed with two parameters, separated by a space. The first parameter is the Device Name/IpAddress and the second parameter is the ProbeName. Please check and verify both the arguments before proceeding to execute the script
3) Navigate to the directory "RemoveDBEntries" and execute the command as given below

Windows users

RemoveDBEntries.bat
Device_Name/IpAddress ProbeName

Example:
OpManagerDE_Home\RemoveDBEntries>RemoveDBEntries.bat 192.168.12.34 USProbe
OpManagerDE_Home\RemoveDBEntries>RemoveDBEntries.bat thomas.adventnet.com FirstFloorProbe

Linux Users

sh RemoveDBEntries.sh Device_Name/IpAddress ProbeName

Example:
OpManagerDE_Home/RemoveDBEntries# sh RemoveDBEntries.sh 192.168.12.34 USProbe
OpManagerDE_Home/RemoveDBEntries# sh RemoveDBEntries.sh thomas.adventnet.com FirstFloorProbe

4) Restart Central and Probe for the changes to take effect
