Using Business ViewsOpManager DE comes with an in built flash-based Map maker, thereby eliminating the need for a separate tool to create business views. Business views can be accessed only from the Central web client.
The following actions can be done: Adding Business Views- From Central web client, mouse over Maps tab and click on Add Business View option. New Business View window opens.

- Enter the Business View Name.
- Select the devices from Available Devices box and move to Selected Devices box.
- Select the background image.
- Click on Apply.
- Drop the devices on the Map and click on the confirmation check box that appears.
- Then select and drag the devices one by one to place on the exact location on the map.
- Click on Save.
- Click Exit to see the newly created business view. You will also find the availability dashboard for the devices in the business view.
Drawing Link between Devices With OpManager DE you can link the devices in the Business view to represent a network diagram. You can assign a meaningful name to link and also configure to change the color of the link to indicate its status. To draw a link, follow the steps given below:
- Click on Add Link button.
- Click the device from which you want to draw a link (the source device) and move the mouse to the destination device and click on that device. A link properties dialog box pops up.

- Configure the Display Name for the link.
- In the Get Status from field, select any interface from either the source device or the destination device. The link will inherit the status of interface that is selected. For instance, if the source device device goes down, and if you have selected an interface from that device, the link also inherits the status of that device.
- Click on Apply.
- Click on Save.
Modifying Business Views To modify the business view that is created, follow the steps given below.
- Access the business view from the Home tab or Maps tab.
- Click on Edit in the opened business view.
- Modify the properties like add/remove links, devices and/or shortcuts and device image [by clicking on Properties button] etc.
- Click on Save.
Adding Shortcuts You can add shortcut icons to business views to drill down networks. This helps you to easily navigate from a view to another view when objects are grouped under geographical location. To add shortcuts follow the steps given below.
- Go to the business view and click on Edit.
- Click on Add Shortcut button. A shortcut properties dialog pops up.

- Enter the Shortcut Name.
- Select the Submap, the map for which the shortcut is created.
- Configure the icon to be displayed for the shortcut.
- Click on Apply.
- Click on Save.
